About the Role

We have an exciting and unique opportunity to join our Finance team as a Credit Controller. In this position, you will play a significant role in facilitating the process of collection procedures within the Firm. Your key responsibility will be to monitor debtor ledgers on a daily basis and initiate related collection procedures in accordance with the firm's policies. This will require you to build collaborative relationships with a range of internal stakeholders and practice groups. You will also contribute to maintaining a healthy cash flow and optimising our financial performance. As the first point of contact for client issues, you will also be required to maintain a high level of customer service.

Key responsibilities

* Credit Management: Evaluating new credit requests and conducting credit checks on potential clients; Creating new profiles for prospective clients; Implementing and maintaining internal credit policies; Updating client data in our system
* Collections: Managing and collecting debts from debtors, ensuring timely payments and minimising the risk of bad debt; Following up outstanding payments through various communication channels; Preparing aged debtor ledgers; Maintaining the collections system on client accounts
* Reporting & Analysis: Reporting on potential debtor problems and highlighting payment issues to management; Producing reports on aged debtors and outstanding balances
* Client & Stakeholder Relations: Responding to client inquiries and resolving issues related to payments; Preserving good client relations while successfully reducing credit risks and ensuring timely collections; Schedule regular meetings with Partners to discuss debtor accounts and determine the best course of action


About You

Ideally, you will currently be working as a Credit Controller, with at least 3 years of experience with office systems and computerised processes and/or a Certificate in Financial Services or equivalent. To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

* The ability to work with and manage a range of internal and external stakeholder groups
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
* Strong organisational skills and a high sense of confidentiality and discretion
* Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
* Competent knowledge of Excel and Practice Management software (experience using Aderant Expert will be highly regarded)
