Positioned near Brisbane International Airport, Aviation High School is a unique educational institution with a curriculum strongly influenced by the aerospace and aviation industries. Offering a range of Queensland Studies Authority subjects from Years 7 to 12, the school provides specialised programmes such as Aerospace Studies and Aeroskills Technology. About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of our school by maintaining its beautiful grounds and facilities to a high standard. Reporting directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or a nominated delegate, this role involves a variety of routine and non‐routine tasks to ensure the school remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities Include

* Maintaining and improving school grounds, including lawns, gardens, and outdoor sports facilities.
* Performing general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and upkeep of school facilities and equipment.
* Supporting school operations through tasks such as setting up activity areas, moving furniture, and managing supplies.
* Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards, including safe storage and handling of materials.
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding maintenance and facility‐related matters.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

* Experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or a related field.
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
* Ability to work independently and manage day‐to‐day tasks effectively.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with staff, students, and external contractors.
* A proactive and organised approach to work, with attention to detail.
