The Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to drive growth within the data centre market in Melbourne. This is a senior, strategic sales role focused on identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities with data centre operators, developers, consultants, contractors, and enterprise end-user clients.
You will be responsible for building and managing a high-quality pipeline, targeting major project opportunities, and positioning the business as a trusted partner for electronic security and associated life safety solutions within mission-critical environments.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Developing and delivering a focused business development strategy for the data centre sector across Melbourne and broader Victoria
* Identifying new opportunities across new-build, expansion, refurbishment, upgrade, and service-led projects
* Building strong relationships with data centre owners, operators, consultants, main contractors, M&E partners, and end users
* Promoting integrated electronic security solutions including CCTV, access control, intruder detection, and maintenance services
* Leading client meetings, presentations, bids, tenders, and commercial negotiations
* Maintaining strong market awareness and identifying emerging opportunities within the Victorian data centre sector
* Achieving agreed sales targets and contributing to continued business growth
About You
You will be an experienced senior sales or business development professional with a strong background in electronic security. Experience selling into data centres, critical infrastructure, high-security commercial environments, or large-scale technical projects would be highly advantageous.
You will have the confidence and credibility to engage with senior stakeholders, understand complex technical requirements, and develop commercially compelling solutions. You will be proactive, strategic, and capable of managing long sales cycles from initial engagement through to contract award.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in business development or strategic sales within electronic security
* Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intruder detection, integrated systems, monitoring, and/or service and maintenance solutions
* Experience targeting data centres, critical infrastructure, enterprise clients, or complex commercial environments
* A successful track record of winning high-value project and service opportunities
* Strong relationship-building skills with consultants, contractors, end users, and key decision-makers
* Excellent commercial awareness, presentation, and negotiation skills
* The ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational teams
* A professional, self-motivated, and results-focused approach
