Our client is a leading energy advisory and operations company with a focus on working with its clients to provide commercial and operational solutions in the electricity, gas, and renewable energy sectors.
Due to the ongoing growth of their successful business, they are looking for a switched-on individual to join their energy trading division. The individual will need to be self-motivated with a keen interest to learn to join this successful leader in their field within their team based in the city fringe.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Undertaking activities in various energy markets, including the STTM, DWGM, GSH, NEM and WEM, to implement energy trading strategies
- Portfolio optimisation to maximise commercial outcomes for clients
- Interacting with the operations team who are managing the physical plant of clients
- Market analysis to gain insights and provide information about trends and patterns
- Reporting financial performance and market information to clients
In addition the person in this role may have the opportunity to be involved in the ongoing development of the inhouse energy trading and automation systems using the technical skills they bring to the role. These technical skills may include machine learning, AI, coding or working with databases.
Knowledge of the energy trading market sector would be an advantage but not essential as you will be trained in order to develop and grow your career with this leader in the energy industry.
**The successful applicant will have the following**:
- Analytical with the ability to solve mathematical and commercial tasks both quickly and accurately
- Attention to detail
- Highly competent with spreadsheets
- Commercially savvy
- Confident with client interaction
- An Australian Citizen
- Proficient academic results in either a Degree or Diploma level with a copy of academic transcript will be required
- Any prior experience with coding would be an advantage, but not essential
