Job Title:

Meat Department Supervisor


Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Supervisor to lead our team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for supervising and participating in the daily operations of the Meat Department.

* Supervise and participate in the daily operations of the Meat Department, ensuring efficient and effective execution of tasks and activities.
* Support the management team in promoting productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategies to improve department performance, including developing, coaching, counseling, and directing personnel.
2. Monitor employee performance and provide proactive feedback to promote teamwork and accountability.
3. Participate in the employment process by making recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination.
4. Respond to employee concerns using problem-solving skills, tact, and discretion in accordance with company policies and regulations.
5. Approve timecards and other reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
6. Implement and uphold proper Meat Department and general safety procedures and standards.
7. Log sanitation procedures performed on daily reports, maintaining accurate records.
8. Comply with health code regulations and follow safety and security procedures.
9. Assist with stocking cases and follow department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished product.
10. Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines for cleaning and sanitation of all equipment.
11. Complete and comply with food safety certification, quality assurance programs, and all safety training required by the warehouse and Meat Department.
12. Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary, providing support and resources to ensure seamless operations.
13. Determine production requirements and participate in meat cutting, ensuring high-quality products.
14. Check quality and consistency of finished merchandise and oversee merchandise presentation and merchandising.
15. Review sanitation log and check for health code compliance, ensuring adherence to company policies.
16. Approve and submit physical inventory periodically and orders to the buying office for equipment, merchandise, and supplies.
17. Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors, ensuring a positive experience.
18. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery, adhering to company safety procedures.
19. Proficient in computer software, copiers, phones, Band Saw, tenderizer, grinder, wheeled racks, wrapping machine, and pressure washer.


Qualifications:

* Trade Qualification (Butcher).
* Supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in a retail or food industry setting.
* Butchery, meat cutting, or comparable experience, with knowledge of meat processing and handling.
* Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions.
* Basic knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets), AS400, and basic math skills, with proficiency in data entry and record-keeping.
