About Us
The Queensland Fire Department (QFD) provides fire prevention, preparedness and response services to fire in the built and landscape environments, as well as scientific and specialist capabilities to Queensland communities. The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and provides a number of functions supporting community safety outcomes.
The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), as well as the broader department which work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on Queensland communities and support our large volunteer membership across the state.
The QFD is an organisation that is committed to reframing the department's relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations through activities identified in the QFD Reframing the Relationship Plan, contributing to Closing the Gap outcomes and building our cultural capability.
Purpose of role
Enterprise IT Solutions and Services is responsible for the management and delivery of enterprise business systems, business platforms, data and integration systems, and information management that ensure QFES systems, information, solutions and platforms are designed and managed to meet the departments IT vision and strategy within the areas of responsibility.
Reporting To The Director, You Will Provide Subject Matter Expertise Across The Departments HR Platforms And Systems, Supporting Key Projects And Business-as-usual Activities Related To
* Payroll implementation – Aurion
* Human Capital Management – SAP/SuccessFactors
* Time and Attendance implementation
This role plays a critical part in supporting the effective design, configuration, and operation of HR systems and interfaces, including the accurate interpretation and application of industrial awards and entitlements. You will work collaboratively with project teams, internal stakeholders, and external agencies to ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions, with a strong focus on data integrity, system performance, and user experience.

* Knowledge and/or experience using SAP SuccessFactors and Aurion Payroll and human resource management systems.
* Knowledge and/or experience in organisational management and project management methodologies.
Your key accountabilities
Responsibilities
Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to:
* Assess and critically analyse information gathered through a range of techniques to support the design and configuration functions for the payroll and time and attendance systems including award interpretation.
* Perform quality assurance checks and governance of SAP SuccessFactors system relating to maintenance, data integrity workflow, releases, fixes and enhancements to ensure a successful progression to production is achieved in consultation with all stakeholders.
* Research, analyse and review complex issues, proposals and submissions to ensure that related issues impacting on agency operations are identified and considered.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships and support internal and external stakeholder groups through the provision of subject matter expertise in business processes and the associated HCM application functions, including payroll, time and attendance, and award interpretation.
* Review and maintain knowledge to ensure HR systems meet legislative and policy compliance by monitoring and implementing regulatory requirements and changes in relation to Acts, Award and Agreements.
* Contribute to and ensure HR systems changes/enhancements are appropriately tested by developing, coordinating and participating in user acceptance testing and continuous improvement activities to support QFD's workforce management capabilities.
* Provide advice in the development, implementation and evaluation of testing requirements for all staff and volunteers including the delivery of the testing strategy.
* Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of training and staff development requirements for all staff and volunteers, including the delivery of training and education programs.
