**Disability Support Worker Wanted - Goal-Oriented & Affirming** An NDIS participant with PTSD is seeking a compassionate and skilled Disability Support Worker in [Location]. This role is ideal for someone who is either pursuing or has completed a degree in **Law, Psychology, or Social Science** and has a strong background in disability support work.

**About You**:
Autism-affirming & queer-affirming

Lived experience with mental health/Autism/ADHD

Experienced in disability support work

Goal-oriented and motivated to support independence

Fun & sociable, but focused on producing positive outcomes

Willing to work within a team

Pursuing a **Bachelor's degree in either Law/Social Science/Medicine** or having completed tertiary education

**The Role Includes**:

- Providing practical and emotional support tailored to the participant's needs
- Assisting with daily living tasks including personal care, meal planning & prep, and domestic assistance
- Supporting the participant in achieving personal and professional goals
- Creating a safe and affirming environment

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about disability advocacy and empowerment. Hours and rates are negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

**About the Role**: You will provide in-home support for a person in their 50s living with a complex disability, requiring **two support workers per shift** as needed.

**Job Tasks and Responsibilities**: For the right applicant, **weekly hours can range from 9 to 40 hours** across a **24-hour roster**. Shifts include daytime, weekday, and overnight work. We can offer flexible arrangements to accommodate existing commitments but require a **genuine commitment and exceptional reliability** once a roster is agreed upon.

Responsibilities include:

- Personal care (bed bathing, toileting, and hygiene assistance)
- Assistance with community access and recreational activities
- Manual handling, including the use of wheelchairs and hoists
- Transportation and social engagement
- Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning

**Eligibility Criteria**:

- No experience required
- A relevant qualification in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support is required
- Two professional, industry-related reference checks
- Willingness to provide or obtain an **NDIS Worker Screening Check**:

- Must hold or be willing to obtain a **First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID004) and CPR (HLTAID001) certificate**:

- Manual Handling & Medication Administration Certificate highly regarded

**Job Types**: Casual, Part-time **Part-time hours**: Up to 40 per week **Pay**: $39.00 - $53.00 per hour depending on experience

**Required Licences/Certifications**:

- Certificate IV in Disability or an equivalent qualification (mandatory)
- First Aid Certification (mandatory)
- National Police Certificate (mandatory)
- Driver's Licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (mandatory)
- NDIS Orientation Module (mandatory)

Pay: Up to $53.02 per hour

Expected hours: 9 - 40 per week
