Role Purpose
The Motion Group Accounts Receivable Manager – Asia Pacific will be the functional leader for Accounts Receivable (AR) across all Motion Group businesses in the region.
This role is responsible for ensuring effective, efficient, and compliant AR operations in a distribution business with multiple geographically dispersed teams, ERP systems, and business processes. The AR Manager will oversee customer invoicing, collections, credit management, dispute resolution, and cash application, ensuring strong controls and governance across the AR function.
Key priorities include optimizing working capital, reducing overdue accounts, driving standardization, and ensuring compliance with PTRS, SOX, and external audit requirements. The AR Manager will act as a senior subject matter expert, delivering operational excellence, change management, and uplift of business disciplines while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
The Group Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager for Asia Pacific will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the AR function across the region.
This role is responsible for streamlining and optimizing the AR processes, ensuring compliance with company policies, improving operational efficiency, and contributing to cost-saving initiatives. This includes ensuring the timely, accurate, and efficient processing of customer orders, invoicing, collections, and credit management.
The Group AR Manager will lead and develop a high-performing team, drive continuous process improvement, and ensure adherence to global policies and compliance standards, while optimizing working capital and enhancing customer satisfaction.
The Group AR Manager will be instrumental in leading Group Finance's aspirations for one finance shared services for APAC using common technology and business processes.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRA)
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead and manage the AR team across the APAC region, ensuring high performance, development of team members, and alignment with global and regional business objectives
* Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to the AR team to enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors, and improve overall team performance
* Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement development plans for team members
* Collaborate with global and regional colleagues across procurement, finance, and business teams to ensure alignment of P2P processes with organizational goals
AR Process Optimization
* Oversee the full AR cycle, including order processing, credit management, invoicing, collections, and cash application, ensuring processes are executed accurately and efficiently
* Standardize and optimize AR processes across the APAC region, ensuring alignment with global best practices and company policies
* Drive automation initiatives within the AR function, leveraging ERP systems and technology to streamline workflows and improve the customer experience
Credit & Collections Management:
* Monitor and manage customer credit risk across the APAC region, ensuring timely credit assessments and effective credit limit management
* Implement and enforce robust collections strategies to reduce overdue receivables and bad debt
* Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve customer disputes and ensure timely collections
Compliance & Risk Management:
* Ensure compliance with adherence to corporate governance, regulatory requirements, and audit requirements across all AR activities in the APAC region
* Work closely with the finance and internal audit teams to conduct regular assessments and address any risks or control gaps related to AR activities
* Support information requests, sample testing and all associated requests from external auditors
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
* Serve as a key point of contact for senior leadership by providing regular updates and reports on AR performance, KPIs, improvement initiatives and customer account status to senior leadership and key stakeholders
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Regional Management teams and global counterparts globally, to support cross-functional collaboration and issue resolution
* Lead the preparation and presentation of AR performance reports, KPIs, and regional/global AR analytics to senior management and other stakeholders
* Develop process-level detailed reporting to identify and implement process improvement
Cash Flow management:
* Drive initiatives to optimize working capital by improving Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and reducing overdue accounts.
* Monitor cash flow and forecast receivables, ensuring alignment with financial targets and business needs
* Provide recommendations to senior leadership on strategies for improving cash flow and managing financial risks related to customer payments
Continuous Improvement and Change Management:
* Take a Lead role in AR transformation or optimization projects, including system upgrades, process re- engineering, and implementation of new technology solutions
* Ensure successful change management by engaging team members, peers and relevant stakeholders to minimize disruptions to operations
OH&S
* Take proactive action to ensure that OH&S practices and policies are in place to provide a safe environment for all team members, and adhere to legislative requirements, company expectations and other safety initiative

* Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of working capital management, cash flow optimization, and the financial implications of the AR process
* Change Management: Proven ability to lead and implement process improvements, including digital transformation and automation initiatives, with a focus on enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency
* Cultural Awareness: Experience managing AR processes in the Asia Pacific region with sensitivity to regional differences, market conditions, time zones and localized regulations
Role Requirements
Knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, qualifications
Essential
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
* 7+ years of experience in Accounts Payable leadership roles.
* Proven Credit Risk Management experience
* Experience managing large, geographically dispersed finance teams.
* Shared services or centralized finance operations experience.
* Strong knowledge of financial controls, compliance, and ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, Oracle).
Desirable
* Experience in industrial, logistics, or distribution sectors.
* CPA/CA qualification or working towards is an advantage.
