ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Group Financial Controller is a key member of the Parish Leadership Team, responsible for leading the financial function and supporting the long‐term sustainability of the organisation.
This role oversees finance, business services, property, fleet, procurement and payroll across the Parish's diverse operations, which span aged care, NDIS, community services and education, supporting a workforce of over 700 employees and an annual revenue of approximately $100 million.
Leading a high‐performing team, you will ensure strong financial governance, compliance and reporting, while driving the adoption and optimisation of systems and technology. A key focus of the role is leading automation, improving processes and embedding more efficient, modern ways of working across finance and broader operations.
Working closely with the CEO and Executive, you will provide strategic financial advice and contribute to major initiatives including capital works, property development feasibility and long‐term financial planning.
This is a Permanent Full‐Time role (76 hours per fortnight) based at the Parish.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide strategic financial leadership and advice to the CEO and Parish Leadership Team
* Lead, develop and mentor a multidisciplinary team across finance, payroll, procurement, property and business services
* Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, regulatory compliance and audit readiness across all entities
* Oversee month‐end processes, balance sheet performance, cash flow and working capital management
* Drive automation and system optimisation, including increased utilisation of platforms such as Business Central, Dayforce and other core systems
* Lead process improvement and change initiatives to transition from manual to streamlined, technology‐enabled workflows
* Strengthen internal controls, financial policies and risk management frameworks
* Support commercial decision‐making, including supplier management, contract oversight and asset optimisation
* Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives including capital works, property development and long‐term financial sustainability
* Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and alignment with the Parish's mission and values
WHO YOU ARE
* CPA or CA qualified with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
* Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role within a large and complex organisation
* Proven ability to lead and develop high‐performing teams across multiple functions
* Strong experience driving system implementation, automation and process improvement initiatives
* Advanced technical accounting knowledge with strong financial reporting and compliance expertise
* Demonstrated ability to lead change and embed new systems and ways of working
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in cash flow, asset management and financial sustainability
* Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and partner at Executive level
* Experience within not‐for‐profit, aged care, NDIS or community services sectors will be highly regarded
