About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Psychologist to join the Dandenong Mental Health and Wellbeing Local (MHWL) on a part-time basis.
The Dandenong MHWL provides integrated treatment, care and support for adults 26 years+ experiencing mental illness or psychological distress. The Dandenong MHWL provides easy to access, high quality treatment, care and support for people whose needs cannot be met by primary and secondary mental health providers, but do not require care from tertiary area mental health and wellbeing services.
The focus of the position is to provide evidence-based psychological services to the people aged 26 and over who present with depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders or post-traumatic stress disorder (including people have co-occurring substance use or addiction).
Responsibilities
* Conduct psychological assessments
* Use diagnosis formulation, and consumers' preferences to develop and deliver effective, evidence-based psychological intervention as per the model of care, including:
o ACT, CBT, IPT for depression
o CBT for anxiety disorders and adjustment disorders
o CBT (Trauma-Focused) including Cognitive Processing Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
o ACT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing for comorbid substance use disorders
* Identify and refer to appropriate ongoing psychological support as part of discharge planning
* Provide secondary consultation, including offering a psychological perspective to the treating team and other relevant stakeholders
* Provide supervision as per supervision policies
* Engage in cyclical clinical reviews
* Be involved in supporting clinical education activities
* Facilitate escalation of care when required
* Implement clinical research projects, or pilot projects associated with service development
* Support colleagues including peer practitioners and community mental health practitioners at the Local.

About You
You are a compassionate and skilled clinician with:
Strong communication and leadership abilities
Experience in complex mental health assessments and interventions
A collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders
A commitment to continuous learning and service improvement
Qualifications
* Current general registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
* Hold endorsement in clinical psychology
* Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) approved supervisor, or able to complete supervisor training within six months of accepting the role
* Minimum of five years professional experience as a Psychologist Grade 2 (or equivalent)
