Job Summary
The role of Strategic Media Engagement Lead involves managing proactive and reactive media engagement strategies, including commissioning story ideas, editing, pitching to journalists, managing press conferences and briefings, coordinating responses to media inquiries, and overseeing a team of media officers.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement effective media engagement strategies that promote the university's research and expertise
* Manage relationships with senior executives, academics, researchers, professional staff, and students across the university
* Collaborate with colleagues to plan and execute media events, including press conferences and briefings
* Coordinate responses to media inquiries and ensure timely and accurate communication
* Lead and manage a team of media officers to achieve strategic objectives
