We're seeking a skilled Blast Technician - Trainee to join our team at the iconic KCGM Superpit, boasting a +10-year mine life. This long-term and fulfilling role offers a family-friendly residential 7:7 roster, 12-hour shifts with occasional night shifts, depending on business requirements and mine cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct safe and efficient open pit charging and blasting activities in accordance with blast plans at Fimiston Open Pit.
* Perform various physical tasks, quality control, and utilize blasting techniques.
* Opportunities exist to learn and grow within our Superpit blasting team.
* Account for all explosives used, participate in magazine, and shot reconciliations as per statutory requirements and company procedures.
Requirements:
* Ability to follow instructions safely and efficiently.
* Capacity to work in all weather conditions.
* Ability to work within a team environment yet independently as required.
* Strong attention to detail in repetitive tasks.
* Willingness to apply for West Australian Dangerous Goods Security Card and Shotfirers Permit.
* Previous experience working in industrial/labour-intensive environments is highly regarded.
* Residency in the Goldfield region is essential for this residential opportunity.
