Speech Pathologist Role

We are seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist to join our team in the acute hospital setting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in managing adult inpatients with dysphagia, communication disorders, and videofluoroscopy swallow study (VFSS) clinic.


About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality speech pathology services to patients, including assessment, treatment, and education.

You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.

Your expertise in speech pathology will enable you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.


Responsibilities

* Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' communication and swallowing abilities, and develop effective treatment plans to address their needs.
* Clinical Practice: Provide high-quality speech pathology services, including individual and group therapy sessions, to patients with a range of communication and swallowing disorders.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in speech pathology, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution.
* Experience: Significant experience working as a Speech Pathologist in the acute hospital setting, including management of adult inpatients with dysphagia, communication disorders, and videofluoroscopy swallow study (VFSS) clinic.
* Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
* Licensure/Certification: Current registration as a Speech Pathologist with the relevant professional body.
