Primary objective
The Multimedia Officer is to provide high-quality, specialist multimedia and graphic design for the NT Police Force (NTPF) Media,
Corporate Communications and Engagement Division, in order to positively impact the NTPF's brand and reputation and deliver key
agency projects and initiatives including frontline operations, exercises and activities, as well as NTPF supported public events, local and
interstate.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop high-quality products such as videos, animation, still imagery and messages for use in organisational publications, websites,
social media, or packaged for the release to external media outlets.
1. Develop scripts and storyboards from communications plans, ensuring alignment with the agency brand guidelines, project
requirements and agency expectations and outcomes.
1. Provide advice to project teams and clients to effectively deliver target-audience focussed products that promote the activities
undertaken by NTPF staff.
1. Collaborate and liaise with the Media, Corporate Communications and Engagement Division to provide best practices and
contemporary communication advice to assist with the delivery of projects.
1. Develop and maintain the NTPF video and photography archive and in-house equipment library, including undertaking procurement
process in order to maintain and purchase equipment.
6. Assist the Publications Officer when required to create, design and prepare publications for print and digital mediums in-line with
agency brand guidelines.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated understanding of multimedia technologies, including the ability to research, provide advice, project manage and
evaluate new and emerging trends.
1. Proven experience developing high-quality graphic design and multimedia projects, including publications, video, photography,
animation, digital and online.
1. Demonstrated experience working in a high-pressure corporate and politically sensitive environment and the Territory's political and
cross-cultural environment, managing various projects within competing deadlines.
1. Experience developing design concepts, project plans, scripts, storyboards, and other relevant documents for communication projects.
2. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills and the ability to liaise, collaborate, and influence stakeholders at all levels in the
design and delivery of projects.
1. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a high functioning team and provide guidance to deliver on agency outcomes.
2. High-level communication skills and ability to work effectively across a diverse agency as part of a small team.
3. Must be able to work outside of regular business hours when required and have a current NT driver's licence.
Desirable
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in a similar position.
2. Extensive knowledge of the structures, processes, and priorities of NTPF.
1. Physically fit as you will be required to undertake taskings in strenuous environments at times.
