Purpose of the Position
This position is responsible for the management and leadership of the Babbarra Womens Centre and the textile brand, Babbarra Designs. It operates under the direction of the CEO in accordance with BAC plans, policies, relevant legislation and funding requirements.

Key Accountabilities
1. Lead and manage the delivery of Babbarra Designs textile production and other arts initiatives, manage the retail shop front and ensure ongoing participation in exhibitions, art fairs and other promotional events.
2. Work to ensure the interests of Women in the community are represented with a focus on creating and promoting initiatives for improved health and well-being including the operation of an Op Shop.
3. Develop education and development programs for women and girls living in Maningrida and surrounding Homelands. Ensure Homelands residents are represented in decision making and creative initiatives.
4. Mentor and train staff in all aspects of operating Babbarra Designs studio, retail shop and op shop including cataloguing artwork, cleaning the studio and cash handling. Direct supervisions include managing an assistant manager and four arts workers. Support the artistic and professional development of artists and staff through training and supervision.
5. Ensure photography of designs and the cataloguing of textiles are up to the highest possible standards. Update the artists stories and biographies as required. Ensure accurate SAM (Stories Art Money) records are maintained. Employ local language dictionaries as necessary for accuracy.
6. Ensure all art products generated are of high quality and materials and all artworks / stock are preserved, collected, presented and interpreted with great care, whether in storage and/or on public display locally, Australia-wide and/or internationally.
7. Execute arts marketing strategies with proficiency. Take charge of curating and managing Babbarra Designs dynamic social media presence on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Administer the WordPress website and CornerShop widget, ensuring regular updates and maintenance of website content.
8. Use your knowledge of screen printing and textile design to support workshops and the development of new designs. This may also include exposing screens, maintaining equipment and reviving archived designs.
