This role involves leading mechanical engineering activities for production launches, developing manufacturing processes, and transitioning new products from design to full-rate production within our Advanced Manufacturing division.Key responsibilities include:Leading development of mechanical manufacturing processes, including machining, fitting, surface treatments, and inspection strategies for new and existing products.Conceptualizing manufacturing solutions and providing estimates for new product bids as the Mechanical SME.Reviewing technical data packs for accuracy, configuration, and manufacturability, and performing technical reviews as needed.Applying engineering governance to ensure processes, tools, and documentation meet technical and quality standards safely and in line with company procedures.Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery.Providing expert advice on production mechanical engineering tasks.Sharing best practices and continuously improving manufacturing processes.About youApplicants should have:A tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, with relevant experience eligible for Chartered status with Engineers Australia.Extensive experience in mechanical engineering within design or manufacturing contexts.Experience with design for manufacture and managing complex production engineering activities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.Self-motivation, adaptability, and a drive for process improvement and problem-solving.We encourage candidates who meet most but not all criteria to apply, as we value potential and growth.About usJoin a diverse, inclusive workplace that values wellbeing and fosters a sense of belonging.
