The role
Mental Health Social Worker
Location: Melbourne clinic, Kew East.
About the Role
Provide care and support to clients with gut‐related conditions and co‐morbid mental health issues. Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, offering both in‐person and online appointments.
- Practice evidence‐based, gut‐directed psychotherapies, including gut‐directed hypnotherapy and CBT.
- Consult with adults and offer optional work with children and adolescents.
- Participate in individual supervision and training with Dr Jim Kantidakis, clinical psychologist and founder.
- Collaborate with dietitians, physiotherapists, GPs and gastroenterologists to optimise patient outcomes.
- Develop specialist skills in brain‐gut therapy with ongoing training and certification in gut‐directed hypnotherapy.
- Maintain a case load, submitting to clinical supervision and case discussions.
Qualifications
- Early‐career, newly graduated or established social workers with a willingness to work under the Mental Health Care Plan.
- Good communication and client‐centred care skills.
- Openness to evidence‐based practice and learning new therapeutic techniques.
- Ability to work 22.5‐37.5 hours per week (3‐5 days), including at least one day of working from home if required.
Hours and Schedule
Flexible start date. Work arrangements include 3‐5 days per week with a one‐day work‐from‐home option.
