Bundaberg Christian College is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Science Lab Technician to join our Middle and Senior School Science department. This part-time, term-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to create safe, inspiring, and effective learning environments for students in Years 7–12.
About the Role
As our Science Lab Technician, you will play a vital support role in preparing and maintaining science laboratories, equipment, and materials. Working closely with teaching staff, you'll help deliver high-quality, practical science lessons while ensuring compliance with safety standards and smooth day-to-day lab operations.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and pack down equipment for practical lessons and demonstrations
Maintain tools, glassware, chemicals, and lab resources
Perform regular WHS checks and maintain a clean, safe environment
Manage stock levels, orders, and administrative records
Assist teachers with student engagement during experiments where appropriate
Liaise with external suppliers and service providers as needed
About You
You're a proactive, organised individual with a heart for service and a commitment to Christian values. You thrive in practical, hands-on environments and are confident managing technical tasks and supporting others.
You will bring:
A demonstrated Christian faith aligned with the College's Statement of Faith
Experience or training in a laboratory, workshop, or technical setting
Knowledge of WHS requirements in educational or industrial environments
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage resources efficiently
A supportive, collaborative approach to working with staff and students
