This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in civil works who enjoys working on a diverse range of infrastructure projects, including those delivered for government agencies, local councils, and TfNSW.
You will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders, supporting project delivery teams, and contributing to the ongoing success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.Bid Preparation: Collaborate with the bid team to develop competitive bids by analysing project requirements, evaluating risks, and determining pricing strategies.Quantity Take-offs: Perform quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and specifications to accurately determine project quantities and costs.Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Solicit quotes and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and ensure project profitability.Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis to identify areas of potential cost savings, value engineering opportunities, and cost risks.Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including cost breakdowns, pricing sheets, and reports, to support bid submissions and project management.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, materials costs, and construction methodologies to improve cost estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Profile
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Civil Estimator within the civil construction industryStrong experience across civil works such as roads, drainage, earthworks, utilities, and infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of first principles estimatingExperience working with government agencies, councils, and/orTfNSW is highly regarded
