We are seeking an experienced NV2‑cleared Security Lead to perform a high‑profile role in safeguarding a major Telecommunications Data Centre in North Sydney. This is a critical frontline supervisory role where professionalism, vigilance, and integrity are essential. $8,000 sign‑on bonus available for full‑time employees (payable in two instalments upon successful completion of 6‑month probation and 12‑month tenure).
About The Role
The security team at this location plays an important role in ensuring our client’s data integrity is always maintained. As Security Lead you will guarantee that the guarding team, and yourself, act as the first point of contact for visitors and contractors entering these locations, setting the tone by delivering a professional and welcoming experience while upholding strict security protocols.
Job location: North Sydney.
Contract: Permanent opportunity.
Pay rate: SSIA Level 5.
Shift pattern: Ability to work rotating day and night shifts of 12 hours.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead on‑shift operations, providing direction, briefings, and oversight to ensure consistent standards, professionalism, and team performance.
* Act as the site escalation point, managing incidents, compliance issues, and liaising with the client and internal leadership as required.
* Ensure operational continuity, overseeing staffing coverage, shift handovers, and the quality of reporting and documentation.
* Proactively manage team welfare and performance consistency across the shift.
* Provide training, education, and upskilling for the team to exceed performance expectations.
* Deliver exemplary customer service while handling some administrative tasks.
* Ensure adherence to all site security procedures, policies, and access control requirements to meet audit requirements.
* Identify and prevent prohibited items from being introduced to or removed from secure areas.
* Raise, update, and manage access requests using client security systems and software.
* Respond to, escort, and document incidents with clear, accurate written reports and daily activity logs.
* Maintain a strong safety‑first mindset and lead by example in compliance and professionalism.
About You
* Mandatory Australian citizenship, due to government clearance requirements.
* Current NV‑2 Clearance.
* Must hold Security Licence, Classification 1A (Unarmed Leading) and 1E (Monitoring Centre Operator).
* Valid First Aid Certificate (3 years validity) with current CPR Certificate (1‑year validity).
* Ability to clear an Australian Police Check.
* Desirable previous supervisory, leadership or mentoring experience of a high‑performing team.
* Lead by example – support a safety and compliance culture.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Conflict resolution and negotiation skills required.
* Strong multi‑tasking abilities.
* Intermediate PC skills (MS Suite).
* Experience in report writing and site patrol duties.
* Excellent observational skills.
