**The role**:
**We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Manager to join our dynamic team at Garden Island. You will play a pivotal role in independently managing and leading Risk & Opportunity Management activities for bids, projects, programs, and portfolios within the Above Water Systems Business. Your expertise in both qualitative and quantitative risk management, coupled with a strategic and operational mindset, will be essential in ensuring the success of our projects.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support Bid, Project, Control Account, and Work Package Managers in developing and maintaining Risk & Opportunity Management data.
- Ensure accurate representation of work, monitoring deviations to the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
- Implement a robust Risk Management Process compliant with ISO:31000:2018 and the Defence Risk Management Framework (DRMF).
- Lead Quantitative Risk Analysis, including Monte Carlo simulations.
- Coordinate internal and Customer SCRAM assessments.
- Manage Program Risk and Opportunities, ensuring proper capture, description, and assignment.
- Prepare for, record minutes, and follow up on actions from Program Risk Review board meetings.
- Coordinate and oversee Risk Mitigation projects and actions.
- Ensure compliance of all risk management elements with IBR contractual requirements.
- Chair Risk review meetings, record decisions, and ensure implementation.
- Verify adequacy between risk handling action plans and the project schedule.
Generate required risk metrics for the business, customer, or project management team.
- Assist team leader, finance team, and coach junior team members.
**How about you?**
- TAFE, Tertiary, or Qualification in Business or Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proven demonstrated ability to manage risk on large/complex projects
- Good working knowledge of AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018 - Risk Management Principles and guidelines.
- Familiarity with the Australian Defence Forces Risk Management Framework (DRMF).
- Experienced in Primavera and Scheduling Tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Open Plan).
- Use of Schedule risk analysis tools such as Acumen Risk and ARM by SWORD or equivalent.
- Scheduling - Program Evaluation & Review Technique (PERT) and Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis.
- Use of Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis or Acumen Risk or similar to develop probabilistic schedules (P80 and P90, etc.) for both cost and schedule.
- Financial/Budgetary control of control account & work-packages.
**Desirable Experience**:
- Technical understanding of the project domain, particularly in the Maritime industry for maritime project(s).
- Experience in the development project engineering lifecycle.
- Data consolidation and reporting - i.e., Power BI.
