Job Description

A strong understanding of individualised learning and a sound knowledge of a play‐based approach is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
* Use the Early Years Learning Framework and the Centre Curriculum Guide for planning and evaluating the learning program.
* Implement strategies for the inclusion of all children and take responsibility for the environment as the third teacher.
* Work with a team approach within the operation of the centre, adhere to routines and rosters, and maintain and update records according to the Centre's policies.
* Attend staff meetings and in‐service training, follow safety protocols, and maintain age‐appropriate limits of behaviour.
* Develop positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, support general cleaning and tidying tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
Selection Criteria
* Diploma in Children Services or working towards it.
* Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes in a timely manner.
* Demonstrated skill in both verbal and written communication.
* Demonstrated ability to provide a healthy and safe environment that meets the needs of young children according to the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework.
* Demonstrated ability to develop individual and group programs for children.
It is expected that the candidate has a willingness to work with all age groups and to work shifts within the operating hours of 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Role Requirements
* As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
* Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
* This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up‐to‐date Working with Children Check.
Remuneration
This continuous role attracts a remuneration of $71,655 – $75,463 (ELC3) + 17% superannuation.
