Job Description
We require up to 90 people to assist with banana field and shed work in the Innisfail region, QLD. Work is to commence from late November 2025 and is expected to continue for 6/9 months with various start dates. Payment for these positions will be Level 1 Casual employee under the Horticulture Award 2020 (MA000028).
The current pay rate for a Level 1 Casual employee under this Award is $30.35 per hour. You will generally work 5 days a week from Monday to Friday. Weekend work may also be available.
Usually you will work between 6:30am & 3:30pm (Monday-Thursday) and 6:30am & 1pm (Friday) although start and finish times will differ day to day depending on how busy the farm is. In this position your duties each day may include: Field work, such as the picking banana bunches, de-leafing, de-suckering, fixing irrigation, replanting, stringing, bagging and other forms of crop maintenance; and
Shed work, such as unloading banana bunches, de-handing, sorting, packing, stacking and other related shed activities. Selection criteria: Physically Fit
Ability to work as part of a team Flexibility to work 30 to 38 hours a week (with additional weekend work hours optional) Ability to work unsupervised
