Responsibilities
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including a general practitioner, allied health and nursing staff to facilitate the provision of coordinated clinical care and treatment for young people accessing Headspace Colac services.
Temporary Part Time (until 30 June 2026) - 35.6 hours per fortnight.
Overview
This role is focused on the provision of mental health counselling and support for a caseload of young people accessing headspace Colac services. This includes the provision of evidence based counselling and psychosocial support. This role specifically targets young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
This role will be committed to delivering a high quality mental health and AOD interventions for young people between the ages of 12 - 25 years of age, their families and friends. A headspace centre operates in accordance with the headspace Centre Service Model and provides access to primary mental health, sexual and physical health, alcohol and other drugs and vocational / education support in a safe, confidential and youth-friendly environment.
The Intake and Treatment Clinician will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including a general practitioner, allied health and nursing staff to facilitate the provision of coordinated clinical care and treatment.
Key objectives
To engage and assess the health and wellbeing needs of young people and their friends and family and friends.
To refer to and collaborate with other health and community services, especially homelessness services, in the interest of the young person
To participate in supporting a timely, responsive and evidence informed youth mental health counselling service.
