OverviewTechnical Officer (Medical Education) – Deakin UniversityLocation: Ararat (Must reside in an area classified as MM2-MM7 under the Modified Monash Model (MMM) 2023).
Full-time, fixed-term until December 2026.
HEW 5 salary range: $83,407 – $93,548 plus 17% Superannuation (pro rata for part time).
ResponsibilitiesProvide technical expertise for the School's teaching programs.
Complete setup and pack down of practical classes and examinations, including preparation and maintenance of human and animal specimens, simulation mannequins and models, clinical equipment, molecular biology materials.Coordinate day-to-day materials and equipment requirements for staff and students for running practical classes; clarify expectations and respond promptly to resolve technical problems to meet agreed standards and timelines.Understand local processes, prepare standard documents, manage records, regularly track progress of work tasks, and identify key issues.Foster teamwork and effective communication within the team and with a diverse range of stakeholders in an inclusive and respectful manner.Support operations on site during assessment periods and other critical activities related to the teaching of the MD program.QualificationsDegree with no subsequent relevant work experience; orAssociate Diploma with at least two years of relevant work experience; orPost-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate with extensive relevant experience as a Technician; orEquivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Experience working in a laboratory setting, ideally within a tertiary education environment.Good knowledge of OH&S; principles and safety requirements when working with biological and chemical hazards.How to applyPlease submit your updated resume and a short cover letter outlining your skills and experience.
