Aboriginal Mental Health Psychologist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aboriginal Mental Health Psychologist to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds to overcome health challenges.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team across programs providing both clinical care and health promotion activities. The role involves working with a high level of independence and minimal supervision, delivering prevention and education programs, and mentoring by local First Nations Social and Emotional Health Workers.

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, joining a dynamic and supportive team committed to improving health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Clinical Service Provision: Clinic based and home visits; perform health assessments; deliver prevention and education programs; data administration.
* Mentoring and guidance by local First Nations Social and Emotional Health Workers.
* Collaboration with experienced therapists and multidisciplinary teams to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Tertiary degree in Psychology or equivalent qualification.
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHRPA).
* Experience in assessment, intervention, and case management in various settings.
* Understanding of health issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and commitment to improving health outcomes.
* Ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
