Join a Australian-owned multi-disciplinary consultancy based near Roseville NSW accredited as a Water Service Coordinator for Sydney Water, offering hydraulic, fire, water, and sewer design services. The hydraulic team is growing and have a newly created Intermediate Hydraulic Engineer role. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, health, education, and infrastructure developments. This role offers a relaxed lifestyle, collaborative culture, and structured pathway to senior-level responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Lead and support hydraulic engineering projects, including stormwater, drainage, and flood mitigation systems. Prepare calculations, design documentation, and space allocations for hydraulic services. Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and water authority guidelines. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, fire, structural, environmental). Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning. Oversee and review technical reports, drawings, and BIM deliverables. Contribute to business development opportunities and maintain client relationships. Knowledge and Experience Diploma of Hydraulic Services Design (essential). 5 years of hydraulic engineering experience in Australia (Intermediate level). Project management skills, including BIM process management. Strong design, technical writing, and communication skills. Experience with Revit (essential) and AutoCAD. Ability to read architectural and building plans, perform calculations, and ensure design compliance. Technical & Team Skills Problem-solving in building design, interpreting standards, and resolving design issues. Ability to provide clear verbal and written communication with project teams. Manage documentation delivery, timelines, and design risks. Foster collaborative working relationships internally and with external partners. Career Progression – Intermediate to Senior Intermediate engineers with 5 years of experience can progress to Senior Hydraulic Engineer, taking on larger projects, increased client interaction, and leadership responsibilities. Senior level responsibilities include: managing multiple projects, leading teams, mentoring staff, and having a larger role in business development.
