We are seeking an Senior Engagement Consultant – Specialty Heritage to join our heritage team to support project delivery, Traditional Owner engagement, and regulatory compliance across a range of diverse areas.

The Role:
Responsibilities may include perform duties as required in relation to your qualifications:
Conduct and lead heritage projects, including complex fieldwork, excavations, surveys and permit application processes in close communication with stakeholders.
Conduct and lead ethnographic and historical research with Aboriginal communities by collecting oral histories, genealogies, and cultural information to document traditional land use and occupancy.
Lead the delivery of lands management and heritage requirements, including working with commercial proponents, and a variety of stakeholders to ensure heritage values are understood, respected and that appropriate protocols are followed as afforded under legislation and lore.
Liaising with Traditional Owner groups and clients.
Train, mentor, and support junior staff, including providing guidance on field methods, reporting standards, safety expectations, and professional development.
Review and/or Prepare documents including reports, briefing papers, correspondence, submissions and advice on operational lands, heritage and cultural issues.
About You:
Essential skills, experience and abilities you must have:
Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Heritage, or related field
Four (4)+ years' experience within the heritage industry
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
Ability to train, mentor, and support junior staff
Ability to travel for regional fieldwork
Ability to work from our Mount Lawley office as required, in accordance with Vardir's flexible working arrangements and operational needs
Desirable but not essential qualification, skills and experience you may have:
Experience working with Traditional Owner Groups
GIS Mapping
Drone Experience
4WD Training
First Aid Certification
Working with Children Check
What We Offer:
We offer an alternative remuneration structure designed to recognise both office and field contributions.
Base Salary (8-hour office days)
Additional field hours paid equivalent to 2 hours per field day (paid above base salary)
Weekend and Public Holiday Hourly Rates
End-of-year bonus aligned with our internal rewards procedure
This model recognises the additional commitment required for regional and remote fieldwork.
