About the Role
As a Software Engineer within Optiver's Developer Experience team, you will focus on building the infrastructure, tooling, and automation that power the entire software development lifecycle. Your work will directly improve how hundreds of engineers develop, test, and deploy software across Optiver's global offices, enabling faster iteration, higher confidence, and improved productivity at scale.

Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain scalable build systems used company-wide
* Develop and manage core build libraries, shared CI/CD pipelines, and Docker images
* Create tools that improve local develop–build–test workflows, including CLI tools, IDE extensions, and container-based environments
* Automate release and deployment processes to support continuous delivery
* Explore and support adoption of AI‑assisted developer tools and coding agents
* Define and track meaningful metrics to measure developer productivity
* Partner with engineering teams to identify workflow bottlenecks and design productivity‑enhancing solutions
* Improve iteration speed, reliability, and overall developer confidence across the organisation
Requirements
* Experience designing and optimising containerised build workflows (e.g., Docker, Bazel, CMake, Ninja, Poetry)
* Strong experience building CI pipelines using platforms such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
* Solid coding fundamentals across scripting and compiled languages
* Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle from ideation to production
* Proven passion for developer experience and productivity improvements at scale
* Strong engineering instincts with a focus on high‑quality, scalable solutions
* Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively in high‑performing teams
* Curious mindset with a continuous improvement approach to tooling and workflows
