Black Hops is one of Australia's best-known independent craft beer brands with brewery, hospitality and wholesale operations.
We are currently seeking a Senior Management Accountant to take ownership of the finance function and provide strong financial discipline during a key operational phase of the business.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with leadership, improving financial processes and ensuring accurate reporting in a fast‐moving environment.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a key role in financial reporting, cashflow management and compliance while supporting operational decision making across production, hospitality and wholesale.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Month‐End Close
Own the month‐end close process across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
Prepare accurate management accounts with clear variance analysis
Maintain key reconciliations including bank, payroll, inventory and ATO accounts
Ensure balance sheet integrity and correct classification of financial positions
Cashflow & Working Capital Management
Maintain rolling cashflow forecasts
Monitor cash burn and liquidity risks
Provide clear cash reporting to management
Assist leadership with scenario modelling and financial decision support
Statutory & Compliance
Oversee timely lodgement of BAS, PAYG, Super and Excise obligations
Maintain visibility of statutory liabilities
Work closely with external advisors on excise, R&D and taxation matters
Budgeting & Forecast Support
Support budgeting and rolling forecast processes
Monitor performance against forecasts
Provide financial insights to operational teams
Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
Work closely with external bookkeepers and accountants to ensure transactional accuracy
Improve finance processes and SOPs across Payroll, AP, AR and month‐end
Strengthen internal financial controls and reporting systems
About You
You are a commercially minded accountant who enjoys working in a practical operational environment.
You bring strong financial discipline and enjoy building robust reporting processes that support decision making.
Experience
4–8+ years Management Accounting experience
Strong balance sheet and cashflow capability
Experience working with external accountants or outsourced finance teams
Experience in FMCG, manufacturing or hospitality environments preferred
Highly Regarded
Exposure to alcohol excise or regulated industries
Experience working in growing businesses

Highly organised with strong time management
