We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Youth Forensic Psychologist to join our Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) team.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting high-level clinical assessments, developing management plans, and producing court reports for young people appearing in Tasmanian Courts. This role involves providing trauma-informed psychological interventions to young people currently detained in Youth Detention and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality forensic mental health services.
Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of young people's mental health needs.
* Develop and implement individualized management plans to address these needs.
* Produce timely and evidence-based court reports to support the legal process.
* Work closely with other clinicians, including psychiatrists and social workers, to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements:
* Advanced degree in psychology or related field.
* Extensive experience working with young people in forensic mental health settings.
* Strong assessment and treatment skills, with ability to work with complex cases.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
