An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Cook to join our caring and dedicated team at Fassifern Aged Care Service. In this rewarding role, you will play an important part in creating high-quality, nutritious meals that bring joy to our residents — many of whom have special dietary needs.
Working alongside a supportive and passionate team, you will help ensure mealtimes are a highlight of the day for those in our care.
About the Role
As our Cook, you will:
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to dietary requirements
* Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with cleaning and infection-control standards
* Keep accurate records of key kitchen and stock data
* Liaise with supervisors and suppliers regarding stock control and ordering
* Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
* Contribute ideas for menu development and special events
What You'll Bring
You are someone who enjoys working with the elderly and understands the impact good food can have on wellbeing. Your excellent time-management skills, reliability, and commitment to safe food practices make you a valuable addition to our team.
You will also bring:
* Demonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation, cooking processes, and hygiene control
* At least one year's experience as a commercial cook in a hygiene-controlled environment
* Strong understanding of food safety legislation, texture-modified diets, and special dietary needs
* Experience in the aged care sector (highly regarded)
