We are seeking an experienced Depot Manager to lead our Adelaide depot, overseeing day-to-day operations and driving safety, performance, and customer service excellence.
About the Role
Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the depot, including fleet management, staff leadership, compliance, service
Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily depot and transport fleet operations including scheduling, routing, dispatch, and freight movement
* Ensure safe operations and compliance with transport regulations, OHS requirements, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR)
* Lead, roster, train, coach, and develop drivers, supervisors, and depot staff
* Oversee Bulk and PUD fleet task allocation to meet or exceed DIFOT targets while managing costs
* Handle customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner
* Complete administrative duties including rostering, payroll support, KPI reporting, and delivery scheduling
* Report incidents, near misses, and first aid events via corporate systems
* Manage depot facilities, equipment, pallets, and general maintenance
* Drive continuous improvement through fleet utilization, performance optimization, and process improvement
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to policy and procedure development
About You
* Qualifications in Business, Operations, or Transport & Logistics (Degree, Diploma or Cert IV desirable)
* Proven experience in transport, logistics, or depot operations management
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams
* Sound knowledge of road freight logistics, fleet configurations, and the local transport industry
* Highly organised with strong problem-solving and administrative capabilities
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and transport management systems (e.g. Fleet Master, or similar)
* Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and service excellence
