GEBIE Civil and Construction (GCC) is the commercial subsidiary of Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises Aboriginal Corporation (GEBIE). GCC undertakes Civil and Construction projects across the Groote Archipelago and has a commercial workshop for vehicles, plant, and equipment.
We are seeking a trade-qualified Painter based on Groote Eylandt. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting finishes that meet project specifications, timelines, and safety standards.
This is a FIFO position based out of DARWIN or CAIRNS on an 18-days-on/10-days-off roster.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
* Prepare surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, priming)
* Apply paint and coatings to interior and exterior surfaces
* Read and follow plans, specifications, and colour schedules
* Ensure high-quality finishing and attention to detail
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment
* Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades as needed
* Meet project deadlines on multiple new home builds
Skills and Experience required:
* Proven experience as a painter
* 2 Pac epoxy experience
* Strong knowledge of surface preparation and paint application techniques
* Ability to work independently or well in a team
* Australian citizenship is required for this position
* Remote area experience, advantageous
