About The Role
TasNetworks is powering Tasmania’s energy future. As we continue to modernise and strengthen the electricity network, we are seeking an experienced and influential leader to unite our Protection and Control capability — bringing together people, systems and strategy to deliver safe, reliable and resilient network performance.
This is a senior leadership role with accountability across protection, SCADA and automation systems, spanning strategic asset management and operational field delivery.
As Leader, Protection & Control, you will provide enterprise leadership of the Protection & Control function and set the long-term direction for how these critical systems are designed, managed and delivered.
You Will
Lead the Protection & Control function in line with AEMO requirements and risk priorities Set strategy for protection, SCADA and automation assets Oversee safe and compliant delivery of protection and control work Provide technical leadership during major incidents and investigations Embed consistent, best-practice processes Drive modernisation and new protection technologies Build workforce capability for cyber, compliance and operational needs Champion quality across field, engineering and asset teams
About You
You are a strategic and technically credible leader who can influence at senior levels and guide highly specialised teams through change. You combine deep subject matter expertise with strong commercial and people leadership capability.
You Will Bring
Demonstrated leadership experience in utilities, energy or similarly complex environmentsDegree in Engineering or extensive equivalent experienceDeep expertise in Protection & Control systems, SCADA, automation and asset management OR expertise in leading technical and complex environmentsStrong knowledge of Australian Standards and regulatory complianceProven experience leading large technical programs and improving operational performanceOutstanding communication skills across technical and non-technical audiencesStrong commercial and strategic acumen, with a focus on value, safety and risk management
