The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is the leading advocate for surgical standards, professionalism and surgical education in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.
RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research. There are nine surgical specialties in Australasia being: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.
About the role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and professional Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our NSW office. If you enjoy working in a collaborative environment, have a talent for multitasking, and pride yourself on exceptional customer service – we'd love to hear from you.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Welcoming visitors and directing enquiries with warmth and professionalism
* Answering phone calls and managing messages efficiently
* Providing reception, mailroom, and guest services
* Assisting with meeting and event organisation, room bookings, and AV setup
* Supporting document management and record-keeping
* Contributing to the delivery of Beyond Science initiatives
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required
Skills and Experience
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong team ethic
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
This role is part time, 2 days per week.
