The role
Are you passionate about renewable energy and looking to kickstart your career with a leading company in the industry? Squadron Energy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Site Operations Manager to join our team at our Victorian Wind Farm Site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to grow within a leading renewable energy company.
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Junior Site Operations Manager is responsible for assisting in the daily operations, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance of Squadron Energy's Victorian Wind Farm Site, consisting of two stages. Responsibilities include day-to-day operations of the plant, including safety, contractor management, plant performance, and representing Squadron Energy with local stakeholders. This position would suit someone locally to Horsham.
You will work in close consultation and collaboration with members of the Operations team, Construction team, and the HSE team, respectively. This role provides critical on-the-ground support to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely execution of site activities, including contractor supervision, technical inspections, and stakeholder liaison.
Key responsibilities
* Assist in managing day-to-day wind farm site operations and maintenance.
* Serve as the local point of contact for plant outages, emergencies, and stakeholder engagement.
* Supervise site contractors and coordinate all plant field activities.
* Perform local and remote operations of the wind farm and substation, including High Voltage (HV) switching.
* Ensure compliance with site Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) protocols and company safety policies.
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and monitor operational performance metrics.
* Liaise with the Network Service Provider and Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) regarding plant operations.
* Establish and maintain good relations with landowners, local contractors, and community leaders.
* Monitor and report on plant performance, including wind and ambient conditions, SCADA reports, and maintenance schedules.
* Participate in emergency response efforts and site readiness planning.
