An established national manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its high‐performing Finance team. With over five decades of industry presence, the business is known for innovation, operational excellence, and strong partnerships across a wide customer base. This role plays a key part in driving financial insights, enhancing business performance, and supporting strategic decision‐making.
Job Description
Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for delivering accurate management reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, and partnering with operational teams to drive commercial outcomes. You'll thrive in a fast‐paced environment where continuous improvement is valued and cross‐functional collaboration is essential.
* Prepare monthly management reports, including variance analysis, performance metrics, and month‐end activities such as journals, reconciliations, and adjustments.
* Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs across materials, labour, and overheads, and review sales revenue and margins for multiple business units.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including development of the 3‐way budget model and quarterly/annual bonus calculations.
* Enhance reporting efficiency through collaboration with IT and Finance teams, driving automation, system improvements, and process optimisation.
* Ensure strong compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
* Provide commercial and financial analysis to support business development, operational decision‐making, and cross‐functional initiatives.
* Manage asset movements, capital project reporting and inventory controls.
* Support audit activities, including financial audit requirements and FBT preparation.
The Successful Applicant
You are an analytical, detail‐oriented professional with a strong commercial mindset. You enjoy working with both financial and operational teams, bringing insights that influence business performance.
* Minimum 4 years' experience as a Management Accountant
* Strong financial modelling, variance analysis, and inventory management capability
* Advanced Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
* Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
* Experience in a manufacturing environment (highly desirable)
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and CPA/CA qualification
