The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Management Accountant to join our Wattleup team in this full-time permanent position. In this role you will be responsible for the general accounting functions including the operation and maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller, your main responsibilities will include:
* Prepare journal entries including payroll-related, bank, accruals, prepayments, AR/AP, inventory, project and general postings
* Maintain general ledger operations to enable the production of complete and accurate financial statements
* Reconcile and maintain balance sheet, revenue and expense accounts including bank reconciliations and investigate differences and/or anomalies
* Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
* Assist with month and year-end closings
* Prepare monthly financial reports as requested
* Review and complete project costings on service jobs, including analysis of variances
* Calculate and prepare tax computations and returns for payroll tax, BAS/GST, income tax, FBT, statutory payroll deductions and other taxes as required
* Prepare Workcover, insurance and other statutory and operational returns as required
* Calculate employee liabilities
* Maintain fixed asset register
* Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
* Review and process expense reports as required
* Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
* Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
About You
To be considered for this position you will ideally:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
* Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).
* Previous experience of general accounting, reporting and knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation.
* Experience with Pronto would be an advantage.
* Computer literate with intermediate Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
