About the Role
We have been briefed by the partners of a US law firm who are looking for strong litigation layers for their Global Disputes practice in Sydney. Their team services high-end, high-value and strategically significant litigation work for leading global and Australian clients.
You will work on some of the largest and most complex matters in Australia and internationally. While this role sits in our Sydney office, you will be joining an integrated Global Disputes team of more than 200 lawyers in 27 offices worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Handling high-value and strategically significant contract/commercial disputes and arbitrations.
* Defending against class action suits and resolving them effectively.
* Representing clients in Royal Commissions and Parliamentary inquiries.
* Investigating and enforcing actions brought by ASIC, APRA, AUSTRAC, ACCC, law enforcement, and various corruption investigation bodies.
* Litigating globally significant test case matters brought by the Australian Government.
* Carrying out sensitive internal investigations for major corporate clients involving allegations of fraud, corruption, and misconduct.
Qualifications
* A strong background as a litigation lawyer with 3-6 years of post-qualification experience.
* Experience gained from a well-regarded firm, particularly in general commercial litigation and/or regulatory litigation.
* An excellent academic record.
* The ability to confidently communicate with others across the firm and a pragmatic, friendly, and down-to-earth approach.
* A commitment to working in a high-performing team.
