Role Description
This full-time on-site role, based in Melbourne, VIC, is for an operations Manager. The Operations Manager will manage all operational aspects of event delivery including warehouse operations, logistics, stock management, labour coordination, and on-site execution. This role acts as the critical link between the sales team and project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Coordination
* Act as the key operational link between the sales team and project delivery, ensuring clear communication and efficient handovers.
* Plan, schedule, and oversee the operational delivery of event projects from start to finish.
* Manage large-scale projects on-site and support team members to independently deliver smaller projects.
* Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
* Ensure purchase orders are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
* Monitor upcoming exhibitions to ensure warehouse teams have accurate documentation and job details.
* Coordinate freight bookings and transport requirements for all projects.
* Liaise regularly with the sales team regarding job handovers and delivery timelines.
Warehouse, Stock & Logistics
* Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure a safe, organised, and efficient workspace.
* Manage stock levels, conduct regular audits, and ensure sufficient inventory for upcoming events.
* Coordinate vehicle scheduling, transport logistics, and maintenance.
* Ensure correct picking and packing procedures are followed by warehouse staff.
* Oversee project stock picking slips and delegate tasks to the warehouse supervisor.
* Manage cleaning, storing, and maintenance of event stock and equipment.
* Liaise with the sales team on stock shortages and recommend alternative solutions where required.
* Lead and motivate the Canberra operations, warehouse, and transport teams.
* Foster a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
* Coordinate labour, electrical services, and contractors for exhibitions and event installations.
* Manage warehouse rosters and on-site staff scheduling.
* Train, mentor, and develop team members to deliver projects independently and to a high standard.
Process & Compliance
* Work with senior leadership to develop and implement operational procedures and best practices.
* Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
* Assist with budgeting for freight and labour for large-scale exhibitions.
* Attend exhibitions and travel locally or interstate when required.

Bonus Skill (Not Essential)
* Tertiary qualifications in project management, operations, or a related field.
* Experience working with scaffolding, temporary structures, or event hire equipment.
* Familiarity with fleet and asset management systems.
