Process Technician – Tailings & Water
Full‐time residential position at KCGM Operation with a 7/7 (12‐hour days) roster. This role offers a long‐term opportunity within a gold mining operation with a +10‐year mine life.
Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Processing Supervisor – Tailings and Water and being responsible for tailings deposition, frequent area inspections, wildlife monitoring, freeboard management, tailings line management and maintenance to ensure our Tailings Storage Facilities are operated and maintained in accordance with Northern Star KCGM's environmental, legal and safety standards.
* Provide opportunity for candidates with previous tailings experience or general operating experience. All necessary training will be provided.
* Proactive involvement with continuous OHS improvement processes and active participation in all communication and awareness systems. Operate in accordance with and comply with the Company's Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
* Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment.
* Exposure to large Tailings Dams and water infrastructure, chemicals, cold, heat, dust, noise, weather, confined spaces and heights. Communicate with other departments and other people on the Tailings Dams.
Qualifications
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Willingness to learn and grow within the company and ability to retain and apply knowledge to day‐to‐day tasks. Current 'C' Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
