The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Card Issuing Sales professional to drive growth across Australia and APAC. You’ll focus on acquiring and expanding partnerships with financial institutions, fintechs, banks, and Web3/crypto businesses clients looking to embed or scale card issuance in their products. You’ll bring a solid understanding of issuing, card scheme dynamics (Mastercard, Visa, UnionPay), BIN sponsorship models, and embedded finance, along with a proven track record of sales success and a strong network in one or more of our target sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a go-to-market plan for card issuing and embedded finance solutions
- Identify, engage, and close new opportunities across fintech, FI, banking and Web3 segments
- Leverage your existing network to accelerate client acquisition and partnership opportunities
- Manage complex sales cycles from opportunity discovery and commercial negotiation to contract close
- Collaborate with internal product, compliance, and implementation teams to ensure seamless client delivery
- Represent Build at industry events, panels, and conferences (e.g., FinTech Australia, Intersekt, AusPayNet, AP+ etc)
- Track pipeline activity and provide accurate revenue forecasting
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in payments, card issuing, or embedded finance sales
- Strong knowledge of card issuing, acquiring, and payment flows
- Familiarity with BIN sponsorship, KYC/AML, and scheme compliance
- Established client relationships in fintech, FI, banks, or Web3 industry segments (required)
- Proven ability to deliver and exceed sales targets
- Excellent communication, commercial negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving scale-up environment
