Job summary: Flexible hours available 2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this role Expected salary: $73,150 per year We are posting on behalf of our client Vegie Bandits for the role of Retail Manager The Retail Managers primary focus is to oversee the stores daily operations, ensuring that it runs effectively and smoothly delivering the best sales and profit results for the business. This will be delivered through leading by example and motivating the store team through effective communication and direction. The Retail Manager must also ensure a high standard of merchandising, presentation and stock control is maintained across the store by a well-trained and developed team who are effectively rostered to meet wage budgets while still delivering a high level of customer service. The Retail Manager is also responsible for maintaining a safe working environment for team members, customers and visitors while also overseeing the compliance of all policies, procedures and legal requirements. The Retail Manager must also ensure key stakeholders are regularly informed about concerns or opportunities that may arise within their store. Responsibilities Sales and Profit: Deliver the best sales result possible across all categories in the store Deliver the best profit result possible across all categories Control wage costs within budgeted figures Control markdowns and waste across all categories to maximise profit Ensure loss prevention is a focus of the whole team at all times 2. Teams Management: Lead by example and motivate the team for the best results possible Maintain a harmonious work environment to prevent any detriment to productivity Prioritise workloads and act on opportunities through daily store walkthroughs with the store leadership team Recruit, train, develop and maintain a team who work together to achieve the best results possible while keeping succession planning front of mind Ensure open communication with the team to ensure they are updated on the stores performance and opportunities Reward and recognise team Ensure effective rostering of the team to balance workload, sales trends and store requirements Monitor Time Target compliance, reviewing sign on/off of all team members 3. Merchandising, Presentation and Stock Control: Maintain outstanding store conditions and visual merchandising standards, with strong strategies to achieve sales targets Ensure cleanliness of the store is of a high standard at all times both internally and externally Ensure quality of product being sold is of quality and meets WIBIT principals during all hours of trade Advertised catalogue lines are aggressively tied up and promoted to deliver desired sales results Maintain promotional points and strategically placed off locations, displaying well merchandised stock to drive sales outcomes Entry and exit snakes are well merchandised and delivering the best possible sale results Department ranges are maintained, well merchandised and filled Ticketing is in place following merchandising standards, to maximise sales potential All stock is ordered on time, in quantities required to maintain minimum display quantity, reducing out of stocks 4. Customer Service: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service Ensure rostering reflects customer traffic to ensure optimum customer service Ensure all team members are well presented and in Spudshed uniform with name badge at all times Ensure ease of shopping for customers with easy access and well laid out store Customer trolleys and/or baskets are readily available at all times Health and Safety: Ensure the team are working safely at all times and are trained in correct procedures and techniques Ensure the store and equipment is maintained to ensure safety to team, customers and contractors Lead HACCP Food Safety ensuring accurate monitoring, recording and reporting with corrective actions raised where required Ensure correct PPE and equipment is clean, readily available and used at all times Entries, exits and fire equipment are clear and accessible at all times Ensure incident reports are completed on time and any investigations actioned Completion of Weekly Safety Inspections within The Shed 6. Compliance: All policies and procedures are followed and adhered to within the store The store is meeting all of it legal requirements Ensure NAV systems and processes are being followed and are being completed in a timely manner Ensure payroll system is: o Completed on time and accurate o New Team members are properly inducted and trained in a timely manner o All administration completed and sent through to payroll department on time Ensure pricing and ticketing is accurate at all times Maintain knowledge of local legislation and regulatory changes that may affect the store or role of a Retail Manager 7. Communication: Communicate and work with key stakeholders to: o Ensure best sales result for their categories o Deliver best waste and stock control outcomes o Ensure Department Heads and teams are trained, developed and working to deliver best results o Ensure department layouts are maintained for best results o Stock levels and quality are maintained at all times Maintain open, transparent communication with the support team at all times and action requests in a timely manner Make sure emails and all communications are responded to professionally and actioned promptly The store team are updated daily through effective communication Outside of the responsibilities stipulated above, you will be expected to complete adhoc duties at the request of the Retail Operations Manager.
