**Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced workshop manager for our client based in Wingfield, SA.**

**About the role**:
This position is based in wingfield and will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and allocation of work in the Workshop to ensure the delivery of completed works on various projects.
**Key Accountabilities include**:
- Manage all Workshop activities via workshop supervision, leading hands, and employees.
- Ensure fabrication activities are conducted within budget and on time - Manage hours/labour and on-time delivery.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by Project Managers and General Manager.
- Ensure the early identification and reporting of workmanship issues.
- Drive productivity and efficiency initiatives in the Workshop.
- Ensure that all stakeholders in the various projects are regularly updated on progress and informed of any potential delays to schedules.
- Ensure that the Company is fully compliant with all Federal & State Legislation relating to OH&S; Issues and matters.
- Develop the skills and experience of all staff in Fabrication Techniques & OH&S; & Quality matters.
- Ensure that Plant, Vehicle and Equipment Registers are maintained.
- Ensure that team members are working in a secure manner
- Provide support and or assistance to Leading Hands and personnel with respect to Workshop Safety.
- Utilise all acquired skills, knowledge, and experience to build and develop a strong team
**Essential Employment Criteria**:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience on construction/fabrication sites/workshops and has worked in a supervisory role.
- Experience and knowledge of working within the structural steel/fabrication industry.
- Tradesman Qualifications - desirable
- Have a working knowledge of the various welding styles and consumables required for different materials and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical workshop drawings.
- Experience in report generation
- High attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience using MS software.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence people in a positive manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to think and work strategically as a leader.
