Job Role Summary
The primary function of this position involves assisting individuals with disabilities in acquiring essential life skills, fostering independence, and promoting overall well-being through interactive activities and personalized support.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide daily living and medical support to clients as required
* Promote skill-building and independence through engaging activities such as cooking, crafts, music, sports, and reading
* Deliver tailored in-home and community-based support aligned with individual goals
* Establish positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families
* Respond effectively to challenges with empathy, patience, and problem-solving skills
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work resiliently, adaptably, and confidently with diverse client groups
* Capacity to prioritize tasks and resolve problems under pressure
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
* Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Outlook
* Current Australian driver's license, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Ability to pass a national criminal history check
* Experience supporting high-needs disability clients
