The business develops, finances and manages large-scale battery energy storage assets, operating across the full project lifecycle from origination and development through to construction and long-term asset management. Backed by major institutional investors, the organisation is experiencing strong growth, with multiple projects currently in operation, construction and development across several international markets.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an Originator to join the commercial team, focused on revenue contracting and offtake strategy across a growing portfolio of battery storage assets. The role will lead the origination and structuring of revenue agreements for both operating projects and assets in development, working closely with internal teams across development, trading, legal and finance. The successful candidate will engage directly with market participants to negotiate commercial agreements and support the ongoing optimisation and commercial strategy of the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Originate and structure revenue offtake agreements tailored to the needs of storage assets and counterparties
* Lead revenue contract negotiations from initial engagement through to executed agreements
* Manage the development of term sheets and full-form contracts, coordinating input from legal, commercial and finance teams
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective market counterparties
* Identify market opportunities and develop contracting strategies to support project development
* Work with internal stakeholders to develop new commercial structures and revenue products
* Provide regular insights into market dynamics and contracting trends that may influence asset strategy and new developments
Experience and Requirements
* Experience structuring or negotiating energy market contracts such as power purchase agreements, tolling arrangements, or similar commercial agreements
* Familiarity with the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM)
* Strong numerical capability with advanced Excel skills
* Ability to communicate complex commercial concepts clearly to senior stakeholders
* Approximately 5+ years of experience within the energy sector
* Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally if required
