We are currently seeking a Manager – Independent Verification & Construction Services, QLD / NT to provide leadership and operational direction to the activities of our Independent Verification (IV) and Construction Services (CS) sub‐market sector business, giving consideration to national, regional and global strategies. The role ensures operational and technical excellence and performance of the IV & CS sector, growing the SMEC Infrastructure function through optimal people, commercial, business development, client relationship management and project performance.
Responsibilities
* Effective planning and management of the performance of the local team in line with the Business Line and Regional plans in support of SMEC's vision and values.
* Undertake client relationship management and business development activities in line with the Market Sector and State plans.
* Provide project governance and project management in the local office to achieve reliable project performance in terms of sophistication, timeliness and quality.
* Provide leadership and development opportunities to the employees located in the local office to ensure cohesion, optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will typically have 20+ years of industry experience, recognised as an authority in the transport infrastructure design market, and would have undertaken Manager / Lead roles in similar engineering consulting organisations, demonstrating the ability to consistently:
* Manage multi‐disciplinary projects successfully, to budget and client specifications.
* Build trusting and productive client relationships.
* Produce tender / proposal documents of an excellent standard and in a timely manner.
* Manage a team effectively for performance and cohesion.
* Be recognised as a local authority in the sector.
