The Design Engineering Manager sits across the Optus MDS project which includes GF, UG, Small Cells and COWs. The role is heavily involved in the 5G Upgrades program as it is predominately design.
**Tasks**:
- Preparing/updating overall design process aligning Client's requirement and Internal process.
- Prepare Project Instruction to implement new process or update existing process as required.
- Organise and manage monthly design toolbox and fortnightly Design team catchup to keep design team aligned with latest instructions and changes.
- Prepare and maintain quality assurance process for the design.
- Mentoring new designers.
- Support the designers providing technical solutions for as required.
- Implementation of change requests aligning the client specification and vendor scope of works.
- Provide technical feedback and guidance to overall SAED team as required.
- Provide technical feedback to commercial team regarding the change requests related to design.
- Liaison with client technical team in regard to any new/updated scope and align the project team accordingly.
- Attend client delivery, acceptance, and technical meetings.
- Prepare scope of works and specifications for third party deliverables.
- Liaison with third party suppliers to meet project forecast.
- Address build query and complicity as required.
- Liaison with internal engineering team to align design delivery process according to project requirement.
- Liaison with Client acceptance team to allow smooth design acceptance clarifying invalid rejections.
Apart from standard management/leadership qualities, some other attributes include
- Currently working in Optus design environment or already has a considerable track record of working for Optus design.
- Already have a good knowledge on Optus standard and manuals.
- Can deal with multiple stakeholders
- Good understanding on overall Telco SAED project.
- Positive understanding on RF & TX.
