Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement curricula in digital design and creative technology courses.
* Supervise honours students and HDR candidates.
* Contribute to governance, coordination of, and participation in school capacity-building activities, and activities that enhance the student experience.
You are an expert in digital design, game art, and programming, with a thorough understanding of software and hardware that power contemporary design industries. Passionate about innovation, you champion a forward-thinking approach that aligns with emerging trends in the design sector.
Requirements
* PhD in Digital Design or a related field.
* Proficiency in advanced technical skills, including programming, game engines, and creative AI tools.
* A record of effective education with the ability to design, develop, and deliver higher education curricula in digital design and game design courses.
* Evidence of scholarly and creative outputs with high impact, evidenced by engagement with industry and/or publications in renowned journals, recognized creative works, or technical contributions in design and digital media fields.
* Expertise in applying digital technologies in design teaching, research, or professional practice, including areas such as generative design, computational creativity, immersive media, and virtual environments.
* Evidence of capacity in supervising HDR students, particularly in areas involving the intersection of digital design and emerging technologies.
Desirable
* Research expertise in human-computer interaction, augmented and virtual reality, and 3D animation.
* Game engine expertise (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
* Industry certifications in programming, game development, digital design tools, UX/UI design, computational creativity, or emerging technologies.
* Active membership in relevant professional bodies, creative communities, and industry networks.
* Leadership experience in course and program coordination in Higher Education.
